Family Hub Terms of Service

Effective: September 26, 2026

These terms apply to your use of Family Hub, a private household organizer developed and operated by Steve Megitt for his family's own use. By signing in or connecting an account, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy.

Who can use Family Hub

Family Hub is invite-only. Accounts are created by a parent in the household, and only invited household members may use it. It is not offered to the public, and we may decline, suspend or remove any account at our discretion.

Members under 18 use Family Hub with a parent's permission. A parent is responsible for managing a child's account and can review or delete its information at any time.

Your account

Keep your sign-in email secure and don't share sign-in links. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell a parent right away if you think someone else has used it.

The kitchen display is a shared device. Anything shown on it may be visible to anyone in the room.

Connected services

You may choose to connect a Google account. Family Hub only reads your calendars; it never changes your Google data. Your use of Google remains subject to Google's own terms. You can disconnect in Family Hub or revoke access at myaccount.google.com/permissions at any time.

If a household member uses "Send to Instacart", Instacart's own terms apply to anything you buy there. Family Hub is not responsible for Instacart orders, prices or deliveries.

Your content

Events, chores, lists, meals, photos and other content you add stay yours. You give Family Hub permission to store, display and process that content only as needed to run the app for your household, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Don't add content you don't have the right to share, or anything unlawful, harmful or abusive.

Points and rewards

Chore points and rewards are a household motivation system. They have no cash value, can't be transferred or exchanged, and parents decide how rewards are granted.

Automated imports

When the import feature is enabled, Family Hub uses an AI model to turn emails, photos or text into draft events and items. Drafts can contain mistakes. Check them before approving, and keep the original source for anything important.

Availability

Family Hub is a personal project provided as-is. It may be changed, interrupted or shut down at any time without notice. Don't rely on it as the only record of important dates, appointments or medical, school or legal deadlines.

No warranty and limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Family Hub is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose. We are not liable for missed events, lost data, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from using or being unable to use Family Hub.

Ending use

You can stop using Family Hub at any time and ask a parent to delete your account. We may remove access for anyone who is no longer part of the household or who misuses the app.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.

Changes

If we update these terms, we'll change the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Family Hub after a change means you accept the updated terms.
